Dahui said that there are three essential requirements for Zen practice: Great Faith, Great Doubt, and Great Determination. In this talk, Ryoshin examines these three essentials from an experiential perspective. We learn to have faith that we are intrinsically Buddha, but how can we have faith in such an imperfect world? The tension between great faith and great doubt give rise to great determination, which fuels our practice.
